- Sun Pictures. Have the children place a piece of colored construction paper out in the sun and place various objects on the paper – things they can find in your classroom (ie. blocks, crayons, etc.) Leave the paper and objects in the sun all day. When the child removes the objects, he/she will find prints of colored shapes on his paper.

- Evaporation Water Painting. Take a bucket of water and paint brushes outside on a sunny day. Let children paint the concrete. Explain evaporation to children as they watch their creations disappear. Evaporation: Heat from the sun causes water on earth (in oceans, lakes etc.) to evaporate (turn from liquid into gas) and rise into the sky.

- Make Raisins. Get grapes and have children rinse them (You can have children engage in counting practice as well, by having them count the grapes). After cleaning, carefully set the grapes out on a paper towel on top of a plate, and place the plate in the sun. Check on the grapes/raisins daily until they turn into raisins.

- Sunshine Clay. Mix 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt & 1/2 cup of water. Knead ingredients together then use cookie cutters to make designs. Set your pieces outside to sunbathe until dry. Once dry, they can be painted.
